Industry Awards

IANA believes in the importance of recognizing the achievements of individuals and organizations who have contributed to the advancement of the industry.

Silver Kingpin Award

The Silver Kingpin Award is intended to recognize exceptional contributions of an individual or individuals who have had a significant impact on the growth and advancement of the intermodal freight transportation industry from any of the various IANA divisions, public entity or government body.

Intermodal Achievement Award

The Intermodal Achievement Award is presented to a for-profit business entity, non-profit organization, educational institution or government agency that has made a significant contribution or innovation to the advancement of the intermodal freight transportation industry.

Chairman’s Award

The Chairman’s Award is intended to recognize exceptional contributions of an individual or individuals who have rendered meritorious service to the Association. This is intended not to be an annual award, but granted by the IANA board of directors based upon the Association’s recognition of commendable contributions.

The Silver Kingpin recognizes an individual or individuals who have had a significant impact on the growth and advancement of the intermodal freight transportation industry. The award was initiated in 1977 and is presented annually during the Intermodal EXPO.

"The Silver Kingpin award is important because it’s given to you by your peers. And it's an award that people don't work for. It just happens and it's very special. I was very surprised and honored when I received the Award in 2004 as it has been given to people in the industry that deserved it.” Ray Tippit
